Tatanka (Tonka) came to us from Hamilton, Georgia. We got him when he is 8 weeks old. What does Tatanka mean? Tatanka is a Lakota word that literally means "bull buffalo". Tatanka was made famous in the Kevin Costner movie "Dancing with Wolves". Also the famous Sioux Indian, Sitting Bull name was actually Tatanka Iyotake.
